CONSIGNMENT TERMS
1. Consignment Period
Each accepted item will be consigned for 60 days beginning on the date it is accepted by Story & Co.
The consignor is welcome to pick up any unsold items at any time before the 60-day consignment period ends.
Once the 60-day consignment period has ended, any items that have not sold become the property of Story & Co. and may be kept, discounted, donated, or otherwise disposed of at Story & Co.’s discretion. The consignor will no longer be entitled to payment for these items.
2. Consignor Payout
For items that sell during the 60-day consignment period:
-
Regular consigned items: Consignor receives 35% of the final selling price.
-
Designer bags: Consignor receives 40% of the final selling price.
-
Store Credit: If the consignor chooses store credit, they receive 50% of the final selling price, regardless of whether the item is a regular consigned item or a designer bag.Â
-
The final selling price is the actual amount paid by the customer after any applicable discounts or markdowns.
3. Store Credit
Store credit may be used toward purchases at Story & Co., excluding items sold by vendors.
Store credit cannot be redeemed for cash and may only be used according to Story & Co.’s current store-credit policies.
4. Payouts
Payouts may be received by the consignor's selected payment method. Once an item sells, the consignor's earned payout will be recorded and made available to them.
Payouts must be collected within six (6) months of the sale date. Any payout that has not been collected within six months of the sale date will expire and will no longer be owed to the consignor.
It is the consignor's responsibility to keep their contact information current and to collect available payouts.
5. Unsold Items
Consignors are welcome to retrieve their unsold items before the 60-day consignment period ends.
After the 60-day period, all unsold items become the property of Story & Co. and may be donated, discarded, discounted, or otherwise handled at Story & Co.’s discretion.
Story & Co. is not responsible for notifying consignors to retrieve items before the 60-day period ends. Consignors are responsible for keeping track of their consignment period and collecting items they wish to retrieve.
6. Item Acceptance
Story & Co. reserves the right to accept or decline any item offered for consignment.
Items accepted for consignment should be clean, in good condition, and suitable for resale. Story & Co. may decline items based on condition, style, season, brand, inventory needs, or other business considerations.
7. Pricing
Story & Co. will determine the selling price of consigned items. Story & Co. may adjust prices, offer discounts, or place items on sale when it determines that doing so is appropriate.
The consignor agrees that their payout percentage will be calculated from the final selling price of the item.
